The INNO4GRID project, coordinated by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and involving Sabancı University as one of its 37 partners, has been selected for funding under the HORIZON-CL5-2025-02-D3-17 call.
The results of the calls under the “Sustainable, Secure and Competitive Energy Supply” destination of Cluster 5: Climate, Energy and Mobility within the Horizon Europe Programme have been announced.
Among 37 partners, Sabancı University will take part in the INNO4GRID (Innovative Technologies for Massive Renewables Integration into the Grid) project, which will be carried out under the leadership of Dr. Nikolaos Koltsaklis, a faculty member of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences. The project has been awarded EU funding under the HORIZON-CL5-2025-02-D3-17: Control and Operation Tools for a RES-based Energy System call.
The INNO4GRID project aims to develop holistic and innovative solutions by bringing together both hardware and software approaches for Grid-Enhancing Technologies, addressing the challenges of renewable energy penetration in Europe’s electricity system. The project will be implemented under the coordination of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with contributions from international institutions such as the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, SINTEF Energy Research, RISE, CIRCE Foundation – Centre for Research in Energy Resources and Consumption, and Cardiff University.
Under the coordination of Sabancı University, Turkish partners participating in the project include Enerpower Energy Technology and Investment, Enerjisa Başkent Electricity Distribution, PURE Energy, Osmangazi Electricity Distribution, and RES UMUT Energy.
